Stone pelted at buses, tires set on fire

Bantwal: In an incident KSRTC Mangalore Division Bus KA 19 F 3485, a non AC Sleeper front glass was damaged at 6.45 AM today when miscreants pelted the stones at Bantwal. The bus was arriving from Bangalore to Mangalore when the incident occurred at B C Road.  No passenger and Crew are were hurt.

Also, stones were pelted at another private bus in the morning around 5:30 am. The windshield of the bus was damaged.

Tires set on fire

Tires were set on fire at a few places including K C road, near Narayana Guru Temple at Mani and other locations.

No private buses have started functioning thereby showing their support for the strike. Rickshaw and a few private vehicles are plying as per usual. Two persons who were blocking the raod near Jakribetta have been arrested by Bantwal rural police. Police security has been provided to Kaladka and other prominent cities.
