Bengaluru: Police arrested three men for allegedly misbehaving with a 27-year-old woman during in the Namma Metro here on Saturday.

The accused have been identified as Hariharan, 28, Anil Kumar, 25, and Mahadeshwara, 20.

It has been gathered that the woman had gone to Chinnaswamy stadium. When she boarded the train, she noticed a man sitting in reserved ladies seat and ask him to vacate.

Post this, the man got up and along with his two friends started passing lewd comments and harassing her, the woman alleged. Though she objected, they continued to harass her till the train reached Kempegowda station, even following her in the station after she got off the train, she alleged.

The woman caught one of the men and called out for help and two security guards took the men into custody.

Police went to the station and took the man to Upparpet police station, and the woman was asked to file a complaint.

Police charged the man under Section 354 (assault or criminal force on woman with intent to outrage her modesty). The police arrested the two others on Sunday and remanded them in judicial custody after producing them in court.

However, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd confirmed that only the first two entrances on every three-coach train and the entire first coach in a six-coach train are reserved for women.
