Police bust prostitution racket; arrest one

Mangaluru: Based on definite information, the city crime branch (CCB) police raided a lodge on K S Rao Road, busted a prostitution racket there and arrested a pimp on Sunday, September 16th. The arrested has been identified as Deepak (43), resident of Bittangala House, Balagodi village, Virajpet taluk, Kodagu district.

The police seized two mobile phones from the accused.  Three more people accused of being involved in the racket Naseer Uppinangadi, Naseer Adyar and Jeevan Poojary are said to be absconding.

Three women who were victims of prostitution were rescued by the police. The accused used to hire women for prostitution in the lodge, informed the police. A complaint has been registered at Mangaluru North police station.
