Mangaluru: Joining the bandwagon of political leaders, who end up making fools of themselves by making absurd claims is Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.

Speaking at the Vishwakarma Jayanti programme on Monday, September 17 Kateel claimed that the idea of plastic surgery was first conceived by Lord Shiva. Citing the story of how Lord Ganesha got an elephant head, Kateel said that it was Lord Shiva who breathed new life into Lord Ganesha, after beheading him a fit of rage, by joining the head of an elephant to his torso.

It may be recalled that earlier BJP leader Biplab Deb had claimed that internet and satellite communication existed in the days of Mahabharata.
