DKShi visits Kollur temple, inspects Varahi dam

Kundapur: State minister of water resources DK Shivakumar, who is currently under the ED scanner for alleged tax evasion and hawala transactions paid a visit to the Kollur Shree Mookambika Temple on Tuesday and offered special poojas to the goddess. He was accompanied by his wife and daughter.
They also offered their prayers to the deities of Veerabhadra, Devi and Ganpati in the temple courtyard here
Later Shivkumar visited the Varahi dam site and held a meeting with the officials to review the work progress here.
Responding to media questions about the Varahi project Shivkumar said that there are plans about implementing Baladande irrigation project. However the same will depend on the water level in Varahi, he said.
As far as supply of water from Bharathkal to Udupi was concerned he informed that he would inform about at a later stage.
