Complaints pour in at police phone-in programme

Mangaluru: Complaints on bus conductors not issuing tickets to the passengers, dominated the police phone-in programme on Friday, October 5th. As many as 29 calls were received during this phone-in programme.
A person from Kankanady complained that conductors of buses plying on the Akash Bhavan route were not issuing tickets. Responding to the grievance, the Commissioner assured to look into the problem.
A caller from Kavoor said a couple of buses which remain parked on the roadside in between Kavoor and Kulur created problems.
A caller from Jeppu complained about lorries carrying fish, spilling fish stored water on to the roads which causes stink in the surrounding areas.
A caller from Valencia requested installation of sign boards and cameras at Valencia circle, as vehicles do not follow any kind of traffic rules.
A caller from Kulshekar complained that conductors of buses plying to Kulshekar do not issue tickets and also foot board of the buses is high which create problems to the elderly to board the buses.
Vijay Kanchan felicitated
Post the phone-in programme, police commissioner T R Suresh along with DCP crime and traffic Uma Prashanth felicitated Vijay Kanchan for securing second place in 105 kg weight class at the Asian bench press championship held in UAE from September 18th to 24th.
Presently, Vijay Kanchan is serving at Anti Rowdy Squad Mangaluru North and head constable at Moodabidiri police station.
