Protesting VTU students call off strike

Bengaluru: The Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) students called off their strike on Friday evening since a few students fell ill.
Students were protesting against the VTU management demanding a one-time exam, supplementary or relaxation in the carry-over system.
The protest continued for two days after which some students fell sick.
Since the students were protesting outside the college, some of them fell sick due to rain and sunlight.
“However, this has not reached the authorities. Worried about our future, most of our parents requested us to peacefully end the strike and come back home. So we called off the strike and submitted a request to Governor office,” a student said.
