Bengaluru: Two men attacked an auto driver by throwing petrol on him and set his hands on fire and robbed him of his valuables here on Friday.

The victim has been identified as Mohammed Asif.

Asif sustained burn injuries and has filed a complaint at the Viveknagar police station.

Police reported that at around 12:30 am, while Asif was waiting near the Victoria Road, two men approached him and asked him to take them to Ejipura.

On their way, the two asked him to stop the auto and as soon as he applied brakes, they dragged him out and told him to hand over his valuables.

As he refused they set his hands on fire. Asif’s hand and shirt was caught fire and he immediately removed his shirt and doused the fire.
