Transgenders beauty pageant tomorrow

Mangaluru: A state-level beauty pageant for transgenders will be organized at Town Hall on October 14th, informed Violet Pereria, Founder of Parivarthan Charitable Trust.

Addressing reporters she said that the beauty pageant is being planned to build confidence among the transgender community. Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will participate in the formal programme. The guests for the programme will include Dakshina Kannada District In-Charge Minister U T Khader, Udupi District In-Charge Minister Jayamala and others.

Around 40 transgenders from across the state have enrolled for the contest and the participants have been trained for the pageant. The auditions were held on October 11th and 12 top contestants were selected.
