Police arrest duo drug peddlers targeting college students

Mangaluru: Two youths were arrested by Mangaluru Rural Police for allegedly peddling cannabis among college students, on Friday October 12th.

The arrested accused drug peddlers have been identified as Imran (24) , son of Abdul Hameed, a resident of Ulabail in Neermarga and Imtiyaz Ahmed (33), son of A Aboobakar, a resident  of  Valachilpadavu, Arkula village in Farangipet.

The police received definite information that two youths on a motorcycle were attempting to sell ganja to college students near Valachil Srinivas College. Based on the information, a police team headed by inspector H Bhajanthri and Sub Inspector Venkatesh rushed to the spot, intercepted the motorcycle and caught both the accused.

The duo were subjected to interrogation and admitted of procuring Cannibis for the college students. The accused have been remanded to judicial custody by the court.

The police have also seized 1.35 kg ganja, an FZ bike, two mobile phones and cash of Rs 15,396 from the arrested.

The raid was conducted under the direction of Commissioner of Police T R Suresh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police Uma Prashanth (Crime and Traffic) and under the guidance of Assistant Commissioner of Police Rama Rao (Mangaluru South Sub-Division).
