Puttur: Miscreants hurl gelatin stick at house, injures one

Puttur: In a shocking incident, unidentified miscreants threw a live gelatin stick at a house belonging to a Narayan Prasad at Kabaka Polya on Monday late night. 

Narayan Prasad’s wife is said to have sustained injuries to her leg owing to the explosion and is being treated at a hospital. 

Reportedly, Narayan Prasad and his wife woke up to some noises around their house at around 2 am on Monday night. When the couple came out to investigate, a miscreant hurled a live gelatin stick towards them, the explosion of which not only injured Narayan Prasad’s wife but also damaged the tiles and the door of their house. Other gelatin sticks too were found planted around the house.

Senior Police officials of Puttur town police visited the spot along with bomb defusal squad. 

It is suspected that a person named Babu, a Kerala native staying as a tenant at Narayan Prasad’s house may have carried out the act since he had been evicted from the room for his alcoholic ways.
