2012 Bejai Raja murder case: All accused acquitted

Mangaluru: The first additional district and sessions court has acquitted 16 persons accused in the 2012 murder case of Bejai Raja.
The Kadri police, in its charge sheet, had named the 16 persons – Pradeep Mendon, Chandu, Achyuta, Subrahmanya, Bharatesh, Deekshith, Jaison D’Souza, Avinash, Nitesh Kumar, Vijay, Sushanth, Mahesh Kodikal, Ganesh, Charan Shet and Vikki – of murdering Bejai Raja alias Shailesh with swords at Falnir here in the year 2012.
Of the persons accused in the case, Avinash, Jaison and Vikki passed away during the trial period while two other prime accused in the case i.e. underworld don Ravi Poojary and Kali Yogish are yet to be arrested by the police.
Noting that the prosecution had failed to prove the charges against the accused, Judge Sharada B pronounced them not guilty
