Illegal sand mining den raided: Rs 11.73 lakh worth items seized

Bantwal: Acting on reliable information a team of Bantwal police personnel led by ASP Sonawane Rishikesh conducted a raid at an illegal sand mining den located at Ajilamogru on Tuesday, October 16 and confiscated items worth Rs 11.73 lakh.

The miscreants involved in the sand mining, however, fled the spot upon seeing the police.

The seized items, which include a tipper worth Rs 8 lakhs, two traditional boats valuing Rs 2.80 lakh, petrol engines used to run the boats worth Rs 80,000 and Rs 12,500 worth of sand have been handed over to Department of Mines and Geology for further action.
