Felicitation of sports persons, launch of Gokarnanatha Health card at Kudroli temple tom

Mangaluru: On the occasion of the Mangaluru Dasara, the Kudroli Gokarnanatha Temple management committee will felicitate ten sports achievers as also disburse Gokarnanatha Health Card to BPL families.
Addressing media persons on Wednesday, October 17 Treasurer of the Temple Committee Padmaraj Karkera said that sportspersons including Poovamma, Gururaj, Jagadish, Pradeep Acharya and Panchami will be felicitated at a programme to be held on October 18 at 6 pm. He further informed that according to an agreement entered with AJ hospital and Unity Hospital, Gokarnanatha Health Card holders can avail a 25 per cent concession in the medical bill amount. Initially, the cards are being disbursed to 1000 families which will be extended to 10,000 families in the future, he added.
Dasara procession
This year’s procession will have over 70 tableaux and over 100 cultural troupes. All necessary arrangements have been taken to ensure that the procession does not get delayed and the idol immersion is done by 4 am on October 20. As per the chalked out plan the procession time will be reduced to 12 hours instead of the earlier 16 hours. The procession will begin at 4 pm on October 19, he informed.
Temple Committee President HS Sairam, Madhav Suvarna, Harikrishna Bantwal, Urmila Ramesh, DD Kattemar, Shekhar Poojjari, BG Suvarna and others were present.
