Bengaluru: A rather disturbing video of an animal sacrifice, supposedly for the success of the just-released Kannada film ‘The Villian’ has gone viral over the social media.
In the video, few youths presumably fans of Shiva Rajkumar and Sudeep are seen slaughtering a calf publicly, carrying the headless body and smearing its blood on the movie poster, mounted nearby. Another youth is seen using the calf’s head to splash more blood on the poster. Undeniably these youths were proud of their barbaric act, a few of them even posed for photos with the blood-smeared machetes in their hands.
The identity of the youths and the place where the incident took place are yet to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, Sudeep and movie director Prem have outright condemned the horrifying act. “Brutality is inhuman. It’s my sincere request to stop all this. This is not the love or respect the team of The Villain would want to see. Stop this slaughtering act please,” stated Sudeep in a tweet.
Director Prem too tweeted saying, “Dear fans, you have made The Villain mega-hit today. Let’s celebrate this success by giving sweets or helping someone in need. Please stop humiliating and killing animals in the name of movie success. I strongly condemn this and request fans to stop any such activities.”
