Karkala: In a tragic incident a Karkala man was found lying dead in a pool of blood at his Jyotinagara residence in Kukkundoor village here on Sunday, October 21 night.

The deceased Alexander John D’Mello, 64 was allegedly stabbed to death by his friend Troy Hillary, 53, a resident of Mumbai who later even called the formers’ wife to inform her that her husband was hurt and lying on the ground.

Reportedly, Alexander and Hillary were known to each other for some time now and Hillary would often visit town to catch up with his friend. Since Alexander was staying alone at his residence, Hillary would stay at his house itself during his visits. On Sunday night the two had an argument over some issue following which Hillary allegedly stabbed Alexander to death.

Later he called up Alexanders wife, who is staying at an ashram in Mangaluru and informed her that her husband was hurt and lying on the ground. She, in turn, called up her brothers who stay in the vicinity of Alexander’s house to check on him. When they arrived at the house they found Alexander lying in a pool of blood.

Hillary who had fled the house then was arrested by the police from near Joduraste where he was reportedly waiting for a vehicle to make good his escape.

A case has been registered at Karkala town station
