Mangaluru:  It is gathered that the ACP completed the investigation and submitted a report of his findings to the police commissioner on October 22nd. Based on the report, chargesheet was filed in the court on Wednesday October 24. Since Ganesh’s name figures in the chargesheet he has been suspended.

Earlier news: A retired official was trapped by a cartel involved with honeytrap, and forced to part with Rs 3 lakh. However, the police came to know of the incident after much delay.

According to the available information, the official was entangled in honeytrap by a woman in the guise of giving him a massage. The woman in question belongs to a massage parlour in the city. Apparently, the woman was massaging the victim in his house at Maryhill when two young med barged into the house and recorded a video of the two in the nude. They then demanded a payment of Rs 10 lakh from the official. Appalled by the progression of events, the official readily made a payment of Rs 3 lakh.

The incident occurred on March 20th and Kavoor police got clue of the incident after some time. However, the police arrested six persons in this regard after piecing in the information revealed by the official.

The investigation revealed that the cellphone the woman used to call the official for providing massage service belongs to a constable working for City Crime Branch (CCB) police identified as Ganesh. The city police commissioner had served notice to the employee. The employee said to have explained that he knew the woman well in the past and therefore he had parted with his SIM for her use.

Since the cellphone number belonging to the police department personnel was used in the case, an assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Rajendra under the guidance of deputy commissioner of police was entrusted with the task of probing the incident
