Truck-scooter collide head-on, woman dies on the spot

Mangaluru: A 35-year-old woman was killed on the spot, while her husband sustained injuries in a scooter-truck collision near Mudipu on October 26, Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Zubeida. Her husband Ismail stands admitted to a hospital

The couple was on their way to Mudipu from Panela when a stone-laden lorry collided head-on into their scooter killing Zubeida on the spot. Fearing public wrath the lorry driver is said to have fled the spot.

A case has been registered.
