Minor boy assaulted for resisting sexual harassment

Bantwal: A 11-year-old boy was allegedly roughed by a few miscreants for resisting a sexual harassment here at Kallaje near Kadeshivalaya on Saturday.
The victim (unnamed), son of Ibrahim of Kallaje was admitted to a hospital for his injuries.
In a complaint, filed at Bantwal police station, it is alleged that there was an attempt made to molest the boy by Rajesh, Umesh and others when he had visited a nearby shop. Since the boy resisted their attempt, the miscreants assaulted him.
The incident came to light only after the boy’s mother upon noticing behavioural changes in him and quizzed him. He was however hesitant to speak due to the mental and the physical agony she claimed.
Bantwala Rural SI Prasanna visited the hospital and gathered information. A case has been registered and investigations are on.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that a delegation of CFI has urged the police to book a case against the accused under POCSO Act”.
