Three-day Forensic Medicine Conference from Nov 2

Manipal: The 26th annual conference of the Karnataka medico-legal society will be held at KMC Manipal from November 2 to 4, 2018 at the Dr. TMA Pai Hall. This three-day mega event will attract delegates from all over the country and over 200 delegates of Forensic Medicine are expected to participate in the event, which will be organised by the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, KMC Manipal as part of the silver jubilee celebrations of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE).
On the opening day, a CME will be held in which forensic medicine experts including Dr. Indrajit Khandekar, Dr. Ashith Acharya and Dr. Mahabalesh Shetty will participate. In the afternoon session there will be a discussion on “End of Life issues and Euthanasia”. The experts who will participate in this discussion are Dr. R.K.Mani, Dr. Nagesh Simha, Dr. Roop Gursahani and Dr. Dvani Mehta.
Additional Director General of Police Dr. M.A. Saleem will inaugurate the conference on November 3 at 10 am. Dr. H.S. Ballal, Pro Chancellor of MAHE, Dr. Poornima Baliga, Pro Vice Chancellor MAHE, Mr. Annamalai IPS, The Deputy Commissioner of Police, for Bangalore South, Superintendent of Police for Udupi district, Mr Laxman Nimbargi and Dr. Rohini, the district health officer of Udupi will also grace the occasion.
The concluding day will have academic sessions. Dr. Madhusudhan Reddy from CDFD is expected to address the gathering. Resource persons from the international committee of the Red Cross and other prominent resource persons are expected to participate and provide an opportunity for those specializing in forensic medicine to update their knowledge.
