Udupi: BJP is dreaming that the JD(S)-Congress coalition government would fall after the bypolls, said Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy here at an election rally for the forthcoming Shimoga by-elections, at Trasi, on Tuesday October 30th.

Accusing BJP leaders of resorting to various tactics to defame the coalition government The CM said, “Sadly, they are ignorant about the fact that the coalition government is here to complete its full term–with the support of the people.”

Alleging that the people in coastal districts were being misled in the name of “dharma’, Kumaraswamy urged the people not to be swayed by ’BJP’s communal politics’.

The BJP is spreading communal hate is absolutely disgusting. People should be aware of BJP’s agenda. It is trying to divide people in the name of religion. From Ullal to Karwar, BJP is trying to make the coastal region a hotbed of communal politics, he alleged.

Sand issue

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy directed Udupi Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis to initiate action against Udupi MLA Raghupati Bhat for staging a protest against the sand crisis even when the model code of conduct was in force.

Speaking on the sand crises, the CM said that the problem was created by BJP in the state. They are attempting to politicise the sand issue. “There are legal hurdles to be dealt with,” he said and added that the Udupi deputy commissioner is innocent and she is adhering to the court order.
