State govt allows bursting of crackers between 8-10 pm during Deepavali

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government said people would be allowed to burst firecrackers for a two-hour period i.e between 8 pm to 10 pm during Deepavali, in line with the Supreme Court directive.
A notification released in this regard urged the people to use low decibel crackers and make sure that the festivities, do not in any way disturb pregnant women and senior citizens.
A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting held between the police and senior officials of the state government.
Further, it directed the state pollution control board to monitor the air pollution levels for 14 days during the festival.
