‘Property Card’ possession to be mandatory from Dec 1st

Mangaluru: Informing about the state governments decision, Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil said that the possession of ‘Property Card’ will be compulsory for the residents of Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) from December month onwards.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday November 7^th, the DC informed that though the district administration had initially decided to make it mandatory for only two villages in MCC limits, it has now decided to make it compulsory for all villages within MCC’s jurisdiction. It will be similarly implemented in the Shivamogga and Mysuru districts.

“From December onwards, land registration will be done only if there is a property card. All 60 wards of the MCC have been divided into 30 sectors under 6 divisions,” said the DC.

“A mobile app will be launched soon by the district administration through which people can upload their document to obtain property card. Also, a separated website http://www.upormangaluru.com/ will be created to sort out confusions and queries regarding the property card. People can also send their queries and suggestions through the app, however it will sorted later,” informed Mr Senthil.

Benefits of property card

The DC spoke on the benefits of the property card and said,” The owner of the property can get statutory property records with the exact map of the property. There is scope for smooth transfer of property rights and also faster change of rights after selling the property. They buyers cans clearly verify loan any loan obligations. Illegal possession and encroachment of property can be prevented through the card.”

Crop survey nearing completion

The DC spoke on the crop survey conducted by the district administration and said,” the crop survey procedures have concluded and presently, the cross verification of the collected data is under progress. According to the survey, arecanut  is the leading the crop in the district , while the other crops include coconut, paddy, rubber, pepper and others. Currently, the village accountants are verifying the survey and post their approval, the details of the crops will be mentioned in the RTC (rights, tenancy and crops). Karnataka is the first state, where crop survey is being conducted through mobile app,” explained Mr Senthil.
