AGL bags Udupi gas distribution project

Udupi: The project to develop City Gas Distribution (CGD) network to supply Piped Natural Gas (PNG) to industrial, commercial and domestic sectors in Udupi district has been bagged by Adani Gas Limited (AGL), a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Limited. It would cover supplying Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to the transport sector in that district.
Joint president of Adani Group in the State Kishore Alva said in a release on Wednesday that the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) has allocated the project which would be completed in eight years. It would cover providing Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connections to 1,10,099 households, laying 569 long steel pipeline and opening 11 CNG retail outlets in the district.
The PNGRB is constituted under The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board Act, 2006, in collaboration with State governments and driving the development of CGD networks across the country. The board had called for ninth CGD bidding for 85 geographical areas in the country, comprising 174 districts in 22 States. AGL is one among the bidders.
Adani Gas Limited is operating CGD networks in Ahmedabad and Vadodara in Gujarat, Faridabad in Haryana and Khurja in Uttar Pradesh covering nearly 3,50,000 households and CNG to over 2 lakh vehicles, the release said.
