Tipu Jayanthi: Outfits threaten to hold protest on Nov 10

Bengaluru: The Chitradurga-based Rajaveera Madakari Nayaka Gaurava Samrakshana Vedike and the Bengaluru-based Tipu Jayanti Virodhi Horata Samiti have threatened that they will hold a protest march on Saturday, November 10 opposing the government’s decision of celebrating Tipu Jayanthi.
The Vedike expressed that Tipu was a cruel ruler who had killed Madakari Nayaka, the last and one of the greatest ruler of Chitradurga and also looted the city. Tipu also destroyed many temples, they alleged.
Speaking to press persons Mahantesh Nayak convener of Rajaveera Madakarinayaka Gaurava Samrakshana Vedike, said, “Tipu and his father Hyder Ali killed thousands of people of Chitradurga, but the government has continued to celebrate Tipu Jayanthi amid tight security”. He warned that their outfit will protest if the government goes on celebrating Tipu Jayanthi.
Tipu Jayanti Virodhi Horata Samiti have stated that the coalition government’s decision of celebrating Tipu Jayanthi is wrong. Tipu cannot be accepted as a freedom fighter. He’s an anti-Hindi ruler, no other King of India had murdered so many Hindus,” the Samiti stated.
