The Federation of World Bunts’ Associations to build houses for poor in 8 months

Mangaluru:  The Federation of World Bunts’ Associations has planned to construct houses on 1 acre of land donated for the purpose by Karnire Vishwanath Shetty. The federation plans to hand over the finished houses to the financially poor within eight months.

Speaking to the media at Amruthotsava building in Bunts Hostel on Friday Nov 9th, the federation’s Chairman Aikala Harish Shetty said that a total of 18 applications had been received from the financially poor people and the houses will be built within eight months. Each of the housing sites will be of 4 cents and the houses will be built with proper facilities. “The aim of the federation is to provide houses to those who are unable to build them on their own,” explained. Mr Shetty.

Speaking on the social service by the federation, Mr Shetty said, “The federation has already helped 39 families that were facing financial problems. It has helped over 1,000 students through its scholarship programmes and also extended monitory benefits to 10 women during their wedding ceremonies. The federation has provided financial assistance to a total of 30 families who have suffered from various diseases. The federation has also released around Rs 2 lakh to the DC’s fund with the aim to provide financial aid to the flood victims. In the last six months, the federation has spent a total of Rs 1 crore on the construction of houses, education and health of the poor people,” he informed.
