Mangaluru: A complaint has been lodged against former Law Minister T B Jayachandra at Urva police station for threatening to burn the Prime Minister Narendra Modi alive.

The complaint has been given by Sudheer Shettygar, a resident of Pompei Shed apartment in Chilimbi after he was surprised to read TBJ’s warning to Prime Minister published in a Kannada daily on November 11.

Speaking at a programme in Tumkur on Friday, Jayachandra had said, “The prime minister had sought 50 days time to set things right (after demonetisation). He had asked people to set him on fire alive if he failed to overcome this test.. probably the time has come to burn him alive.”

Taking exception of this Mr Shettygar lodged the complaint and said, “As a fan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, It was indeed alarming to read about Jayachandra’s conspiracy to murder Prime Minister and thus filed a complaint in Urwa police station.”

According to sources from Urwa police station, the complaint has been accepted and the next course of action will be decided after consulting senior officers.
