Mangaluru: in accordance with the instructions issued by the city police commissioner, the city police conducted a drive against cars with tinted windshields and removed such films from 20 cars on Tuesday November 13th.

Acting under the supervision of the city traffic assistant police commissioner, a police team conducted this special operation by identifying erring vehicles and removed tint from 20 cars on their own.

In spite of Supreme Court order against using tint, there had been worrisome rise in the number of vehicles using tint film since a year.  Therefore, instead of letting the cars go after imposing fine, the police stopped such vehicles, and removed tint.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of city police commissioner, T R Suresh, and deputy commissioners of police, Hanumantharaya and Uma Prashanth and was executed by city traffic department assistant commissioner of police, Manjunath Shetty, and inspectors, Amanulla and Shivaprakash with support from the traffic policemen.
