Belagavi: Rajmatha Pramoda Devi, on Wednesday, November 14 expressed that she is neither in favor nor against the state government’s Tipu Jayanti celebration.

Addressing the presspersons after inaugurating the physiotherapy department at KLE Hospital here Rajmatha said that she has no idea why the government is celebrating Tipu Jayanti in spite of opposition from many. She further said that if we go on speaking about this issue it will only create anguish.

“I am not in favor of this celebration, nor am I against it,” she said.

Like Tipu Jayanti, birth anniversaries of other heroes who sacrificed their lives in the fight for independence should also be celebrated, she added.

When questioned if any of the royal family members are interested in contesting the election she clearly said that she and Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, the scion of the dynasty are not at all interested in politics.
