Trio held with 223 kg ganja

Bengaluru:  Acting on a tip-off sleuths of by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested three persons smuggling around 223.84 kg of ganja and cannabis, worth Rs 90 lakh concealed in the boot of their car here near the Devanahalli toll gate on Tuesday, November 13.

The accused are identified as Anumulu Prasad alias Guru(45), S Ramakrishna (21) and K. Rajesh (28).

The officials intercepted the Swift desire car,  bearing Andra Pradesh registration when it was plying towards Maharashtra from Vishakapatnam via Bengaluru to avoid election-related security checks in their usual route via Telangana. During a search, 110 packets of neatly packed ganja was found stuffed into the boot of the car, stated a press release of the NCB police.
