Hosangady: Injured Sāmbhar rescued

Kundapur: A sambhar which was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle and was lying in the drain was rescued in good time and was provided with proper treatment at Kantegadde near Hosangady here on Tuesday November 13th.

The grievously injured sambhar was found lying in the drain by the road near Kantegaddeby Hosangady GP staff Praveen Kumar and his wife while they were on their morning walk. They immediately notified the forest department officials.

The Sub-Zone Forest Officer Veeranna, Forest protector Prakash, satish Hennabailu, Santosh, Krishna Murthy immediately rushed to the spot and rescued the injured sambhar with assistance from the localities. Currently, a veterinarian is providing treatment to h injured animal at the Forest guest house at Hennabailu.

Responds to treatment

The sambhar had already lost one of its horns. Now because of this accident, it has lost its other horn as well. Presently, the sambhar is responding to the given treatment and recuperating, informed Sub-Zone Forest Officer Veeranna with “Udayavani”.
