Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team(SIT) investigating the Gauri Lankesh murder case is likely to file the second charge sheet to the KCOCA special court before November 27.
This additional charge sheet, prepared by the sleuths after nearly 14 months of investigation is running into 3,000 pages. A 650-page charge sheet had been submitted in the court in May of this year.
In the charge sheet, 18 accused will be mentioned while two could be termed absconding. The police has already arrested the 16 people mentioned in the charge sheet. The involvement of a Hindu organization, Sanatan Sanstha in the killing has also been mentioned in the charge sheet.
The plan to kill Gauri was made by Amol Kale and she was shot Parshuram Waghmore. Gauri was killed because of the rational and ideological differences she shared with the accused, said sources.
Lankesh, a left-leaning activist-journalist, strongly opposed Hindutva. She was shot dead on September 5 last year outside her home in Rajarajeshwari Nagar in Bangalore by two unknown assailants on a motorcycle.
