Bengaluru: Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy inaugurated the third six-coach train on Thursday.
Kumaraswamy flagged off the train from Dr B.R. Ambedkar Vidhana Soudha station. The train will run on the Purple Line (Mysuru Road to Baiyappanahalli) as the ridership on that route is more than in the Green Line (Nagasandra to Yelachenahalli) during peak hours.
The first six-coach train had begun its operation in July after getting clearance from the Railway Board. The second six-coach train started in October. The six-coach trains have a capacity to carry 2,000 passengers.
