Couple informs their son about suicide, kill themselves

Bantwal: A couple committed suicide and informed the same to their son seconds before killing themselves in a bizarre incident that occurred at Maninalkur Pattanadi near here on Thursday, November 22nd. The deceased couple is identified as Premanath Poojary and Chandravathi.

The incident

Premanath committed suicide by tying a rope around his neck and jumping into the well of the house while his wife Chandravathi killed herself by hanging from the wooden log attached to the roof of the house. 

According to sources, Premanath Poojary called his son in the morning of Thursday and informed him that both he and Chandravathi are going to kill themselves and immediately disconnected the call. It is understood that the couple used to quarrel everyday  and could be motive behind the extreme step taken.

A case has been registered with Bantwal rural police station in this connection and sub-inspector Prasanna Kumar has visited the spot.
