Goa fish ban: MLA, MP, fishermen delegation to visit Goa on Nov 27

Udupi: Three MLAs of the coastal districts, representatives of fishermen under the leadership of MP Nalin Kumar Kateel will visit Goa on Tuesday, November 27 with the aim to resolve the ban imposed by the Goa government on the import of fish from Karnataka.
According to the information given by Udupi MLA Raghupati Bhat, the delegation will meet speaker of Goa assembly, fisheries minister and health minister of government of Goa and try to find a solution to the problem.
A delegation of fishermen under the leadership of MLA Raghupati Bhat met Nadagowda, minister of fisheries of Karnataka on Saturday Nov 25th and discussed the issues faced by the fishermen of the coastal region. An appeal was submitted to the minister to revoke the ban that is imposed on the fish from Karnataka in the state of Goa.
The minister responded positively to the request made by the delegation to give the Malpe Sleep Way to the Fishermen’s association of Malpe and assured the delegation that he will take up the issue with the chief minister and then visit Goa and speak to the concerned in the Goa government.
