Mangaluru: Karnantaka Lokayukta Justice P Vishwanath Shetty has said that he has asked the lokayukta officials to visit various departments, inspect the systems and the submitted report will be brought to the notice of the higher officials and the mistakes will be asked to be rectified. If the mistakes are serious in nature, then I’ve asked the lokayukta officials to register a suo moto case, he informed speaking to reporters at Circuit house after inspecting progress of the officials of the department.

“I had earlier directed the officials to visit and inspect the situation of angawadis, government hospitals, social welfare department and student hostels coming under the minority and backward classes department an up to 30% of the offices of the revenue department. Now I am checking its progress,” he said.

More attention on health services

The complaints in connection to the Puttur government hospital have been verified and the DHO Dr Ramakrishna Rao has been directed to resolve the issues. Details have been procured on if there were any resulting problems due to the delay in the relocation of Lady Goshen hospital to the new building. I have directed to give more attention towards the health services in the district, he said.

The department officials are conducting verification regarding the illegal sand mining in the district, he informed.

It is my wish to visit all the hostels and government hospitals in the district and carry out inspection. But due to the lack of time, it is not being possible. Even then, I will visit a few places, he said.
