Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, an Ola cab driver who went to pick up a passenger was taken captive by the passengers and forced him to make a video call to his wife,  threatened her to strip for them and took screenshots of it.

As per the sources, Somashekhar an Ola cab driver had got a booking from Bengaluru’s Adugodi to Dommasandra on Friday night, but little did he know that it would turn out to be the worst experience of his life. Around 10:30 PM four men boarded the cab and when Somashekhar asked them their destination they started assaulting him with provocative language. They allegedly attacked him with a screwdriver before abducting him, they also forced him to sit in the rear seat with two men on either side while one of them took the steering wheel to drive towards Ramanagara, while another man sat in the co-driver seat. The passenger on seeing that the Somashekar had only Rs 9,009 in his online wallet forced him to make a call to any of his family member and ask them to transfer more money to his account.

The helpless cabbie made a call to his nephew and asked him to transfer Rs 22,000. After withdrawing that money the gang continued driving towards Mysuru on the highway and booked a room in a lodge at Channapatna. They also took the Somashekar with them to their room and forced him to make a video call to his wife and asked her to strip for them if she wanted her husband to return home safe and they also took a screenshot of it. However, the next day afternoon the Somashekar managed to escape through the toilet window.

After escaping Somashekar immedialtly went to a Channapatna police station and narrated his ordeal to the police. Meanwhile, realising that cabbie had escaped, his captors immediately checked out of the lodge fearing a police raid.

Now a case has been registered at Adugodi police station with this regard.
