6 killed, 8 injured while heading back from a funeral

Belagavi: As many as six persons died and eight others were severely injured in a road accident on Tuesday morning near Gokhak Hirenandi village. 

The deceased are identified as Yellavva Khandre (60), Paravva Khandre(30)  Anasuya Nayak (28), Nilavva (40), Bhimaseppa Poojary (38), and Mahadeva (30) all residents of Savdathi Taluk. 

Reportedly, they were returning home after attending a relatives funeral when a sugarcane-laden tractor collided into their Bolero car. 

A case has been registered with the Gokhak rural police.
