Karkala: Despite public opposition to the proposed toll gate at Belman, on Karkala-Padubidri State Highway, the construction works which had been stalled for some time now has shown signs of being resumed.
Meanwhile, the Mysuru-based Mithra Info Solution which has been entrusted to collect the toll here has sought protection while the construction works are being undertaken.
On the basis of their request the Karnataka Road Development Corporation Ltd (KRDL), in a letter written to Udupi district deputy commissioner on November 23 urged to provide necessary protection for the works relating to the toll gate proposal, which has been sanctioned by the government.
A copy of this letter was endorsed to Mitra Infra’s Vijay Gowda, KRDL project office executive engineer, and secretary of PWD engineering department.
