Hunting in reserve forest case: Wife suspects murder of her deceased husband

Kasaragod: A new turn has developed in the hunting in the reserve forest case after the Sofia Bhagamandala, wife of the deceased George Vergis (45) from Tannikal, a resident of Taiyedi Chittarikal, has filed a complaint with the police suspecting her husband’s friends to have shot her husband in the forest.
Reason remains elusive
The police have informed that the reason behind the death remains elusive. Initially it was suspected that George must have died due to the shots fired by the forest guards.
The incident
The deceased George, along with his friends Chandran and Ashokan who were also residents of Chittarikal, had ventured into the Mundrot reserve forest, located 5 kms from Chittarikal Palavayal which belongs to Karnataka when the tragedy occurred.
In connection with the case, Bhagamandala police have taken into custody Chandran and Ashokan and are conducting a thorough investigation. A comprehensive investigation into the reason behind the death is being conducted, informed Kodagu police. On the other hand, even the Chittarikal police too are conducting investigations.
The post mortem was conducted at Pariyaram Medical College.
