Fulfilling pledge at temple for being blessed with baby turns fatal for Hanuru man

Chamarajanagar: In a tragic turn of events a man who had been to Maramma temple here to fulfil a pledge, having been blessed with a child after 12 years of marriage died after consuming poison prasad.

The deceased, Shantaraju’s wife can’t come to terms with the tragedy and has been weeping inconsolably with her 2-month-old baby on her arms.

After consuming prasad at a temple in Sulivadi village on Friday, December 14, at least 12 people were killed and over 80 others are ill.

It is gathered that the miscreants had mixed poison to the prasad served at the due to some personal grudge.
