Notorious underworld element Vishwanath Koraga Shetty’s aide arrested

Mangaluru: A man involved in a murder at Hoige Bazar who was in illegal possession of a pistol and other deadly weapons has been arrested by the police based on a tip off. The suspect is said to be an aide of underworld element Vishwanath Koraga Shetty who is hiding abroad.
Hemanth Kumar (47) who is a resident of Hoige Bazar in Mangaluru is the arrested suspect.
While arresting the suspect, the police also seized a pistol (costing Rs 1 lakh), four live bullets, two machetes, a knife, a baseball stick and two mobile phones from him together worth Rs 1,12,750.
Prime accused
The arrested suspect is the prime accused in the murder of Anish Shetty who was murdered near Kadri park under Mangaluru east police station limits in 2014. Also two other attempted murder cases have been registered against him earlier. Mangaluru south police station has taken possession of the suspect as well as the seized goods.
The operation was conducted under guidance from DCP law and order Hanumantaraya and DCP crime and traffic Uma Prashanth and was led by CCB police inspector Shantaram, PSI Sham Sunder and staff.
