2 held for flying drone illegally near HAL airport

Bengaluru: The HAL police held two persons for illegally flying a drone near HAL airport on December 15.
The detained persons, Syed, 24, and Bharath, 28, are residents of Whitefield and work for an advertisement company.
On Thursday, Krishna Naik, chief manager, Helicopter Division of HAL, had lodged a police complaint against unknown persons for illegally flying the drone in the old airport premises. In his complaint, Nair stated that the drone had posed a threat to the life of a pilot, Hari Nair, who was flying a helicopter for testing purposes when the drone was detected by radar at around 1.30 p.m.
Meanwhile, Syed and Bharath claimed to be using the drone-camera to shoot an advertisement film, for a Prestige Group apartment located near HAL airport.
A case has been registered under IPC Sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 287 (negligent conduct with respect to machinery), 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of duty) of the Indian Penal Code.
