Kaup: A hotel worker has been dead at a market near here under suspicious circumstances. The deceased man is identified as Rajesh Naik (38) a resident of Mallaru-Kidtimaru.
The deceased was a alcoholic and was employed as a cook at a hotel in Yermal. It is suspected that as he was returning back home on Friday night, he must have slipped and fallen to his death.
His head hit a cement block and it is suspected that he must have succumbed to this injury leading to severe blood loss. The death came to light in the morning when the workers arrived to clean the market and later, a person appointed to maintain the restrooms here informed the police of the incident.
The police as well as the locals suspected the cause of the death and found it much difficult to identify the deceased man. He was identified only after his photo was sheared through Facebook and Whatsapp when the family members were able to identify him.
He used to return home daily
Rajesh Naik used to go to his relative’s house every night. Even on Friday night he had called his relative through his cellphone. His relative later came and looked for Rajesh and since he was not there, he returned back home. He has requested the police to launch an investigation into Rajesh’s suspicious death.
