India’s Biggest Talent Hunt for Cricketers Comes to Mangaluru

Mangaluru: After hugely successful trials of the Biggest Talent Hunt for aspiring cricketers in Hyderabad, Pune and Jammu, the Magpie Sports Group, one of India’s leading sports management companies based in Delhi, now comes to Mangaluru in search of potential cricketers (in the age group of 12-25 years).

The trial will be monitored by former top Indian cricketer Abhijit Vasant Kale at the St Aloysius College, Hampankatta on Thursday (27 December 2018).

Hundreds of cricket aspirants took part in India’s biggest talent hunt in the earlier trials were vetted, screened and those shortlisted have been graduated for the next level to be held in Chandigarh shortly.

As Manish Chaudhary, chairman of Magpie Group rightly says, “India is an ocean of cricketing talent but with limited opportunities to get exposure overseas. That is why a majority of budding, as well as aspiring Indian cricketers, face hurdles in this not-good-enough circumstances,” adding, ”We want to provide a dynamic platform to get this much-needed exposure at an early stage through this talent hunt, so that going forward they can become truly world-class cricketers.”

The shortlisted players will take part in the five-day talent hunt to be conducted at the Tau Devi Lal Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh under the watchful eyes of who’s who of international biggies like Albie Morkel and Herschell Gibbs from South Africa; Owais Shah and Matthew Hoggard from England; and Kyle Mills from New Zealand to select the Top-48 talented cricketers.

These Top 48 cricketers – 16 in each batch – will go on a training tour to England, South Africa and New Zealand where they will get a chance to train with a reputed club or academy for a month. This shall give them an opportunity to be signed by a club in the respective country based on their performance during the tour.

The entire expenses for this tour will be paid in the form of scholarship by Magpie Sports Group.
