Udupi: Residents of Udupi have taken too the social media to express their discontent over the forced bandh-like situation imposed in the temple town in view of the security arrangements made for the President’s visit.

As part of the security arrangements the district administration had imposed restrictions on vehicular movements along the Manipal road  from Adi Udupi to Mutt through Karavali Junction and circuit house road. Moreover shops and business establishments located nearby the Mutt were directed to remain closed for business and entry of devotees to Sri Krishna temple was prohibited from 6am to 3pm.

Locals have complained that the restrictions, thus enforced almost for an entire day for the President’s 45-minute visit to the temple town, posed a lot of inconvenience to patients as well as people who arrived here for emergency-related works or to attend any functions.
