Karavali Utsav: Social activist Hilda Rayappan presented with Karavali Honorary Award

Panambur: Eminent social activist and Director of Prajna Counselling Centre Hilda Rayappan was conferred with the Karavali Honorary Award during the valedictory of the Beach Festival held at Panambur Beach on Sunday Dec 30. The Award was presented by DK District in-charge Minister U T Khader.

Addressing the gathering after receiving the award Hilda said that the district has good reputation and many talents which have shone at national and international levels. But the reputation of our district is being ruined by some unwanted incidents in the recent days. These incidents need to be stopped and people should come together without any discrimination, she said.

Mr Khader addressed the gathering after presenting the award and said that the district had good tourism potential but it was not getting utilized properly. We need to utilize the resources properly and create an atmosphere which is investment friendly; he said and assured that the government was ready to provide support to any investors.

A scintillating musical event by Manikanth Kadri and team followed the valedictory function and enthralled the audience gathered in large numbers.

Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil, Additional DC Kumar, MUDA Commissioner Srikanth Rao and Panambur Beach Development  CEO Yatish Baikampady and others attended the programme.
