No retake in politics: BJP MLA Suresh Kumar warns Prakash Raj

Bengaluru: Shortly after Prakash Raj announced his intent to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as an independent candidate BJP MLA Suresh Kumar in a tweet warned the actor that there are no retakes in politics.

“Retakes and editing are not available in politics nor are scripts for dialogue play. Action and cut words are banned, therefore, be alert,” read the tweet by the senior politician.

On Tuesday, Prakash took to Twitter to wish everyone a Happy new year and announced his formal entry into politics. 

“HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE..a new beginning .. more responsibility.. with UR support I will be contesting in the coming parliament elections as an INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE. Details of the constituency soon. Ab ki baar Janatha ki  SARKAR #citizensvoice #justasking in parliament too..,” he tweeted.

Notably, the National Award-winning actor had in November 2017 stated that actors joining politics is a disaster. “I’m not joining any political party. I don’t think actors should join politics just because they’re popular. It’s a disaster. They should come with a clear perception of the issues facing the country and win the trust of the people,” stated Prakash Raj at a press conference held in Bengaluru at that time.
