Illegal sand transportation: Two arrested, three trucks confiscated

Mangaluru: Acting on a tip-off, the Mangaluru city police on Tuesday arrested two persons and confiscated three trucks involved in illegal transportation of sand at Tannirbavi here.
Kanakappa (32), a Udupi resident and Ganesh G (26) a Katipalla resident are the arrested persons.
During the raid conducted at a place near Kudremukh Junction-Tannirbavi main road, it was found that sand mining was being carried out without the required licence. The trucks were then seized.
Panambur police registered a case.
