Asked to pay up for food, miscreants set canteen ablaze

Ullal: In a bizarre incident which took place in the outskirts of the city at Thokkottu, miscreants set ablaze a canteen after the money was demanded from them for their meals on Thursday Jan 3rd. The canteen which is located at Kapikad in Thokkottu is run by Habeeb from Halekote.

On Thursday night a gang turned visited the canteen for meals in the night and as they had their food and were standing outside the canteen, the owner asked money for the food that they had. That is when the gang attacked Habeeb and then set ablaze the canteen which was gutted.

Ullal police have visited the location, carried out investigation and registered a case in this connection. It is suspected that the act must have been carried out by Kumpala resident Rauf and gang.
